To use the PocketDNC software you must have the following hardware items

  • A Pocket PC Unit
  • Serial cable supplied by the Pocket PC manufacturer normally referred to as a "Serial Sync Cable"
  • An additional serial cable which is specific to the the Pocket PC and the CNC machine controller
  • A CNC machine controller

RS232 Cables

An RS232 or serial communications cable is required to connect the Pocket PC unit to a CNC machine control. This cable is plugged in-between the manufacturers serial cable and the RS232 port of the machine control. These cables can be unique to a particular model of Pocket PC and the machine controller.

These cables can be purchased from us at a cost of $85 plus shipping or you can download the wiring diagrams and make them yourself.

The Dell Axim's require a special modification to the serial cable involving soldering a diode between two pins. This diode can be sourced from the following link Radioshack

If you are having problems sourcing the Dell Axim's serial cable normally referred to as a "Serial Sync Cable" then follow this link Dell Cable
